Anaphylactic Shock
a
shock caused by a severe allergic (immunologic) reacton where a patient who has
already produced antibodies to a foreign
substance (antigen) develops a systemic antigen – antibody reaction and
triggers abnormal dilatation of blood
vessels .

Pathophysiology
Antigen antibody reaction provoke
cells to release patent vasoactive substances such as histamine or bradykinin
etc.

Clinical features:
Uneasiness
Feelings
of impending doom
Headache
Feeling
of lump in throat
hoarseness
of voice ,
dyspnoea
waheezing
pruritis
urticarial
edema
of eyelids
anxiety
etc.
Management:
Remove
causative agent
Adrenaline
is given to stimulate cardiac performance and corticosteroids to reduce
inflammatory response.
Cardiac
and resparatory support
Tracheostomy
if needed
